Yum. . . just got finished with a tasty green milkshake for dessert after dinner. I got suckered into going to the store for green food coloring and icecream. The boys in the household wanted green milkshakes! It didn't take too much to twist my arm since it sounded delicious to me too.
Zachary, of course, has had a wonderful St. Patty's Day. Even though he typically does not go to school on Thursdays, his teacher invited him to come today to join in the festivities. He came home just talking about it up a storm. Apparently they ate cookies, drank magic milkshakes, made cool St. Patty's Day art, and chased leprachauns all day long. What a life! Too bad he doesn't know how good he has it. Tonight at dinner, he sighed and said to me and his father, "Ah, I need a break!" What a comedian.
What could be better than a green milkshake in the bathtub! That is where Zach and Daddy are right now.

A Well Adjusted Family. . .
Chase and I are enjoying our morning. Big brother Zach is at school and we are busy at home. Well, ONE of us is busy, the other one is sleeping soundly in dreamland. He just got back from Fenn Chiropractic and loves a good nap right afterwards. We both had our power turned on today. (One of Dr. Fenn's favorite sayings.)
Since I document everything to do with our kids, I thought it was only fitting to document Chase getting "adjusted". I thought it might be interesting for him to see it himself one day. It's still amazing to me the difference I have seen in my child. Many of you know he was diagnosed with torticollis as a newborn and we have been seeing wonderful results through stretching exercises and chiropractic care. A month and a half ago he was a stiff baby, unable to turn easily with limited range of motion. After the first adjustment he was loose as a goose. Now he's sitting up unsupported, rolling over, jumping in his jumperoo, and so playful. He's improving each day and we are thankful! In fact, not only does Chase enjoys his adjustments three times a week, Paul and I are enjoying it too. It is a wonderful feeling to be in alignment. I highly recommend it. Chiropractic care is not only for people experiencing pain in their body right now (back pain, neck pain, etc.), it is for people who want to maintain their good health!
Thank you Fenn Chiropractic. The Birdwell family is well adjusted now!!

Chase Parker Having Fun. . .
Chase Parker has enjoyed his day today! He had fun going with Zach to the doctor for his 4 year checkup. Thankfully Zachary is in perfect health! (See stats in blog below).
We came home and played outside and also enjoyed a picnic lunch together. Papa came over this afternoon (and Grammy for a short visit) to play ball with Zach ALL afternoon. Literally three hours! He was excited that I let him skip his nap.
Chase is doing so well sitting up all on his own. While we were at Zach's doctor visit I asked the nurse to weigh Chase and he was a whopping 21 lbs. 4oz. You would never know he's a preemie!
He has enjoyed playing with his brother and all his toys today. Here are a few pictures and short video.

Zachary's 4 year Checkup. . .
Happy to report that Zachary had a glowing report from Dr. Dalrymple today. It was an easy appt., no shots! His height was measured, weight taken, blood pressure checked, and Dr. D. listened to his chest, checked reflexes, etc. He was perfect for Dr. D.
His weight is 35lbs. and he is 41 inches tall!
We are PROUD of our boy!!

Recent Funny Zach Sayings. . .
On the way home from school zach told me, "momma, I like to communicate." I'm thinking to myself, "no duh!". Then I asked him what the word "communicate" meant. He told me it was when everyone in the community ate cake! Hilarious!
Daddy and Zach were in the bathtub last night and I overheard this: Daddy says to Zach, "Name all the soft drinks you know." Zach replies, "Well, there's Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Senior Diet Coke, Senior Coke. . ." (I guess he's heard his grandparents order drinks WAY too much!)
One afternoon around 5pm Chase Parker was tired and fussy. I heard Zach say to him, "If you stop crying I'll give you fifty dollars!"
Oh, the laughs we get to have with this kiddo!!! Love him so much!!

Happy 4th Birthday Zachary!!
On Saturday, March 5th we celebrated Zachary's 4th Birthday with all of his friends and family. It was a fabulous birthday for our little guy. I was hoping and praying for a great party for him since last year was such a disappointment. (Many of you remember how the ENTIRE family came down with the stomach flu the night before the party!)
My prayers were answered. It was a wonderful day and he enjoyed himself SO much! We had the party at our home and, thankfully, the weather cooperated and we were able to have it outside. It would have been CRAZY to have it inside with 55 people in attendance. Whew, thank you Jesus!
We had tables set up outside, the bounce house going, dinosaurs everywhere, balloons flying high, etc. The kids also enjoyed making volcanoes, drawing with sidewalk chalk, hopscotch, blowing bubbles, etc. It was wonderful. Zachary ran around like a crazy man playing with all his friends, ate three pieces of his super cool dinosaur cake, and had fun opening lots of presents. He was a happy little boy that day!
Having all of his friends (Cooper and Cassidy, Emily, Drew, Logan, Avery, Katie, Trevor, Gavin, Jordan, Sydni, Savannah, Kennedy, Mack and Lucas) share his day made it so special. And, of course, having his family there made it perfect!
His Daddy and I bought him a race car twin sized bed as our birthday gift. He absolutely LOVES it. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the day. You can view all 75 of them on my facebook wall.
Happy Birthday to our sweet little man!!!
A very cool dinosaur cake. It had a motion sensor and when a hand got close he would pop out of his volcano with red eyes and roar!
The kids enjoyed making their volcanoes. . . baking soda, dish detergent, vinegar, red food coloring!
Everyone enjoyed the party! Happy Birthday Zachary Thomas Birdwell! We love you!

Our family is like fudge. . . mostly sweet with a few nuts!
When Paul saw the description of our new site and title of my first blog entry he asked, "so who are the nuts in our family?" Hmmmm. . . ALL of you who know us can answer that, right? Welcome to the new Birdwell family website!
I've been on facebook for awhile but am venturing out to blogger now. In the near future I will take down our previous family website (thebirdwellfamily.com) and just use this one as our primary site. Having two children limits my time greatly these days and I'm finding this site to be much easier.
If any of you have any suggestions to make the layout better, I welcome them! For now I am still learning this site and hope to have more stuff added soon.
Hope you all are enjoying your weekend. . . .
