The last time I was here I was a mere young 40 years old. . . I have since turned the big 41. Wow. I can't ever seem to get used to seeing that 4 as the first digit of my age! I really don't feel like I'm in my forties, mentally at least. And, apparently I don't act like it according to a nice stranger that told me the other day that I seem much younger than my age because of my personality. ;) But, when I look in the mirror, I see the changes big time. And I definitely feel and see the changes in the metabolism department! I DO NOT LIKE!
I did enjoy my birthday very much. My parents spoiled me rotten and my hubby took a day off during the work week to spend the entire day and evening with me. It was nice. And my boys made me the sweetest card. Plus I got to share my birthday with Easter too! My mom in law spoiled me with a huge cake (not good for that old metabolism but it was yummy!).
Speaking of Easter. . . this year we visited my Mom and Dad's church and enjoyed a little different twist on the day. We had Easter on the Lawn at Renaissance Church with Pastor Tony Legear. (love Tony and his wife Brenda so much!) It was so much fun. The weather held off until the very last prayer was being spoken at the end of the service. Lunch was served inside though and all had a wonderful time! Afterwards we headed to Havana for the annual easter egg hunt at Aunt Faye's. The boys had a blast. Between the egg hunt at church that morning and Aunt Faye's they came home with a RIDICULOUS amount of candy.
We have been enjoying this outside spring weather lately. Daddy usually takes the boys to the park first thing on Saturday mornings while I have some "me" time. They love that special time with Daddio. Of course, he usually spoils them with donuts too. That could be one of the reasons he is high on their list! ;)
And, Zachary has really taken an interest in mini-golf! He is really phenomenal too. (Maybe he will take after his daddy, grandfathers, uncles, and future cousin in law and develop his skills).
Bella Kate has recovered 100% from her glass in the foot surgery and is back to being herself. She is proving to be a very good hunter. To be as large as she is, she is surprising me with just how close she comes to catching squirrels. The other day she ran after one, caught up to it, flipped it over a few times but couldn't bring her big self to a stop to actually get it. Thankfully the squirrel made a safe getaway. And, she caught an opossum too. Thankfully it played dead and she lost interest. She still loves her family to death though. . . I love this picture below. She's always got to be in the mix!!
Zachary has been doing very well too. . . he loves sharing a room with his little brother. They get on each other's nerves but Zach was the first one to be concerned about him when he was sick recently. You could tell he hated it. I guess they really do love each other.
Recently I had to do a studio photoshoot (which I typically do all my shots outside unless newborn) and I was practicing with the lighting. I asked the boys to just do one picture for me so I could see if the light was correct. They agreed and boy did they take a picture. I just love this. They really look like brothers and they look so natural. I love it!!
It's hard to believe Zach's first year of school will be over in just a few short weeks. I'm amazed at how well he has adjusted to Kindergarten. He loves it so much. His Daddy and I are so proud of him. I am looking forward to summer though! And we are planning another trip to Lego Land soon. Fun!!
Well, that's my update for now! I'll leave you with just a few more cute pictures. . .
